What are Lumen Prints?

Lumen prints are a type of photograph created by placing objects on photographic development paper and placing this in the light. The light darkens the exposed paper but the unexposed areas remain white.

The image on the photographic paper is a lumen print. (If another light source is used, the print is a photogram. Most of the images I create use the sun and other light sources.) Continued exposure to light would degrade the images, so each image is scanned to create a print. If desired, prints can then be modified to create artistic lumen prints.
